KinPingPrivacy
KinPing lets two people care for each other from a distance. Both people choose to connect. There is no hidden mode and no location tracking.
What we keep
- Your name, your timezone and, if you add one, your profile photo.
- If you have an account in the app: your Apple or Google account id, and the email address it gave us, if any. If you only answer from a link in your browser, we keep none of these.
- The questions people ask you or that you ask, and when they are asked.
- Your answers, notes and answer photos.
- Reports people send about a problem, with the names, question, answer and note they are about.
Who sees it
Only the people you connect with see your name, photo and answers. They never see your email address.
How long
Answer photos are deleted after 30 days and answers after 180 days. Invites nobody accepted are deleted after 30 days.
Ads and other services
The apps show banner ads from Google. Google's ads software receives your IP address, which gives a rough location, how you use the app, performance information, and your device's advertising identifier, for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, subject to the consent choices you make in the app. You can reset or delete the advertising identifier in your phone's settings. The browser answer page has no ads.
This website
kinping.app may use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland nothing is set until you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner; elsewhere Analytics runs from the first page and you can switch it off any time with Cookie settings. Ads, ad personalization and Google signals are off. The only other storage is your remembered cookie choice. The website loads its font from this site, not from Google.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings and choose Delete my account. This deletes your account, your Apple or Google account id, your email address, your connections, questions, answers and photos from our server. Reports already sent are kept so we can review them.
If you only use the browser page, tap More. Leave or Block deletes your name, your photo, your answers, notes and answer photos from our server, and so does the other person ending the connection. A report someone already sent keeps its own copy of the words it is about. You can also write to us.
